Instead of dropping another recipe into your inbox, I’ve decided to send you a little vacation inspiration. Once Upon A Frittata, after all, is not only a frittata of fresh ingredients drizzled in olive oil. It’s also the aroma of real books, a side of vacation inspiration and a bird lover’s paradise. If you are in need of some fresh vacation inspiration, check out the Travel page. This is where I keep all of my trip itineraries, and it is organized by destination (U.S. destinations followed by international destinations).
Below is a photo journey to start you on your way. Each photo links to the travel page where you’ll find out more.
May your vacation inspiration run wild today. Bon voyage!
Vacation Inspiration: Greece
There is no place on earth more beautiful than Santorini, Greece. Combine a historical journey to the Parthenon in Athens and the beaches of the Aegean on Mykonos with this unparalleled romantic destination. Grilled octopus and rosé all day.
Vacation Inspiration: Maine

Salt in the air, butter in your hair. Take the DownEast Lobster tour and explore. Spend a long weekend in Ogunquit strolling the Marginal Way, or spend a week reaching new heights at Acadia National Park. Maine is only a short drive from Boston and makes a great extension to any New England trip.
Vacation Inspiration: Costa Rica

You’ve been thinking about it for years. But you still haven’t gone. Why not? Costa Rica. Pura Vida. The place I put off for too long. The place I keep going back to for more. Take your time. Be slow like the sloth.
I recommend Top Travel Costa Rica for trip planning. Ask for Jorge.
Vacation Inspiration: Puerto Rico

Puerto Rico. Our forgotten sister. No passport required. The food, the festivity. Old Town San Juan – better than the French Quarter any day. And just 8 miles offshore is Vieques Island. The ultimate unplugged vacation. Beaches for days, all yours. More wild horses than humans. Is this really America?
Vacation Inspiration: Scotland

Bring your Outlander fantasies to life. No place in the world surprised me or seduced me more than Scotland. The clinging mists, castles in the distance. The peace, the quiet. A fireplace with a warm hearth, a hearty home-cooked meal. Stories of distant times and places.
