Added this book to the Frittata Book Club not because it was well written, (the author got the job done but I did not find the writing to be very good) but because I was intrigued by the character.
I’ve always been a fan of Kiefer Sutherland – sometimes because the characters he portrays are so evil that they leave you hating him. A sign of a truly remarkable actor. Not to mention the courage it takes to play the bad guy vs. the hero.
As with Matthew McConaughey, Kiefer Sutherland is a real and down to earth human. You’d think he was born into privilege since his father is the ultra famous Donald Sutherland. But you’ll learn quickly that this wasn’t the case.
I also was interested to find out that Kiefer Sutherland is the grandchild of a former Canadian president, and it was interesting to see how this influenced his beliefs on how healthcare should be delivered. As someone who works in the healthcare industry, I usually cringe when celebrities start opining on how things should be done. In Kiefer’s case, he’s actually got the background and has put significant thought into his opinions. It actually had an impact on some of my own beliefs.
